Here I am!

Greeting blog family! I decided I was going to have to keep up with my blogging a little better, especially since one of the best friend I've ever had is moving away ( I won't mention any names or point any fingers... Jac) ! I know my semi-insane life is not really that important in the grand scheme of things but it is fun to keep people updated in case they want to know something.

We just got back from a spring break vacation to Kansas City, MO. We don't usually get to take a family vacation for spring break because Breon is at spring training. Since the Rangers are struggling financially right now, he didn't have to go. We found lots of great things to do in Kansas City even though when we told people that's where we were going, they looked at us with confused looks and stares. It's not a vacation hot spot, but it is a very interesting city to visit.

This is one of my favorite images from the entire trip. I was having my quiet time on the plane when I looked over and saw GOD's awesomeness. I love sun rises but seeing it from the window of the plane made it extra special.

The first place we visited was Park University. It was built by the students that attended there in the early 1900's. It was nice to see but the coolest thing was the underground caves. It's where they took all the limestone from to build the buildings.

We got to hit up a lot of museums while we were in Kansas City. Usually Breon hates this but he was a good sport about it and suffered through all the "other" museums until we got to the sports stuff. The Negro League museum is a must see! 18th & Vine is a part of the city that has a lot of rich culture and history.

Of course there was great food! We went to Arthur Bryant's ( thanks Brent!) & it was delicious!

We hung out at Union Station which was beautiful. It's still a working train station.

While we hung out at Union Station, we ate at the Harvey House Diner. We actually ate there twice during our trip . Our waiter, Murl, was great and very "happy" if you get my drift.

Of course, since we are the Dennis family, and sports is a huge part of our lives, we had to visit some sports venues!

We also spent some time at Kansas University. The girls enjoyed all the Jayhawks. I knew a guy that used to go there and they were favored to win the NCAA title. They have since loss, but the Jayhawk pride was great to see. I of course enjoyed all the basketball stuff. There were James Naismith exhibits and Wilt Chamberlain stuff. It was neat.

Kourtni, who just got into sports, even enjoyed the sports stuff. I really liked being this close to a NCAA trophy.

While at KU, we met a guy that Breon knew through some other guy, and he got us into the stadium to get a picture by the football field. We really had a great time as a family and it was probably one of our best vacations ever. I can't wait for the next one!
