Here I am!

Greeting blog family! I decided I was going to have to keep up with my blogging a little better, especially since one of the best friend I've ever had is moving away ( I won't mention any names or point any fingers... Jac) ! I know my semi-insane life is not really that important in the grand scheme of things but it is fun to keep people updated in case they want to know something.

We just got back from a spring break vacation to Kansas City, MO. We don't usually get to take a family vacation for spring break because Breon is at spring training. Since the Rangers are struggling financially right now, he didn't have to go. We found lots of great things to do in Kansas City even though when we told people that's where we were going, they looked at us with confused looks and stares. It's not a vacation hot spot, but it is a very interesting city to visit.

This is one of my favorite images from the entire trip. I was having my quiet time on the plane when I looked over and saw GOD's awesomeness. I love sun rises but seeing it from the window of the plane made it extra special.

The first place we visited was Park University. It was built by the students that attended there in the early 1900's. It was nice to see but the coolest thing was the underground caves. It's where they took all the limestone from to build the buildings.

We got to hit up a lot of museums while we were in Kansas City. Usually Breon hates this but he was a good sport about it and suffered through all the "other" museums until we got to the sports stuff. The Negro League museum is a must see! 18th & Vine is a part of the city that has a lot of rich culture and history.

Mr. Elliot is a 18th Street Native. In front on Negro League Museum

This is the view from the front of the Negro League Museum and the Jazz museum.

Of course there was great food! We went to Arthur Bryant's ( thanks Brent!) & it was delicious!

We hung out at Union Station which was beautiful. It's still a working train station.

While we hung out at Union Station, we ate at the Harvey House Diner. We actually ate there twice during our trip . Our waiter, Murl, was great and very "happy" if you get my drift.

Of course, since we are the Dennis family, and sports is a huge part of our lives, we had to visit some sports venues!

We also spent some time at Kansas University. The girls enjoyed all the Jayhawks. I knew a guy that used to go there and they were favored to win the NCAA title. They have since loss, but the Jayhawk pride was great to see. I of course enjoyed all the basketball stuff. There were James Naismith exhibits and Wilt Chamberlain stuff. It was neat.

Kourtni, who just got into sports, even enjoyed the sports stuff. I really liked being this close to a NCAA trophy.

While at KU, we met a guy that Breon knew through some other guy, and he got us into the stadium to get a picture by the football field. We really had a great time as a family and it was probably one of our best vacations ever. I can't wait for the next one!

DENNIS FAMILY HOLIDAYS!

As promised, I am going to update you on the Dennis Family Holidays! I have all sorts of pictures to share and I hope that you enjoy them all. If not, that's okay, too! We'll first get started with one of my favorite days of the year; Thanksgiving! We stayed home this year and had a restful time. Breon got food catered for us so I didn't have to do anything but warm it up. It turned out well.

Brea always makes some sort of craft or cute picture for our holidays.

Everyone made something this year. Brea decided to make a favorite of hers and mine; JELL-O

Breon found his place early in the day... the couch

Kourtni made a really good cake with Breon's help. I now know I don't have to do all the cooking. I have a house full of chefs!

We did lots of cool things together this holiday season. One of them was that Brea participated in the children's choir at church. They sang some really cute songs that made us all remember the real reason for the season... the birth of our Savior!

Brea is in the left corner. It was really cold but the kids did an awesome job.

Brea & I had fun in the cold weather.

Some of the songs included hand motions and sign language.

One happy singer!

In the middle of all the holiday stuff, we also have a birthday. Kourtni turned 12 this year and she was so excited. She decided on having a small birthday dinner instead of a party this year and I was thankful to be able to spend a little less money!
Kourtni, in true vampire loving fashion, wore an I love Edward shirt for her dinner. I'm so proud of her! I'm sure Ms. Jaclyn is , too!

Dinner with a few close friends.
We've hit the time were being cool is most important! OMG!

Christmas is always a fun, yet stressful, time for our family. We usually go home to Shreveport and stay a few days with both sides of the family. There is usually some sort of fight or blow up on one side of the family or the other. This year, thankfully, that didn't happen. it was rather mellow and uneventful. The girls were happy and got along with cousins, I rested and got along with siblings, Breon was sick so he got along with others, too!

This is our sad little Christmas tree that we love to death. We sit it on a tv tray and put gifts around the bottom of it and on the floor. Since we spend Christmas morning out of town, this works for us!

We spend Christmas Eve with Breon's side
of the family. It's always fun and there's always a picture taken with a thumbs up in it. It's their thing.

All of the Dennis' together, on Christmas Eve

Now on to my side of the family...

Momma & Ronda, opening gifts, & talking. My niece,Devan, is always being silly! Love that girl.

Daddy is worst than the kids about Christmas. He's always ready to open up gifts!

I hope you enjoyed a few of the highlights from our holiday season. I'll continue to try to do better so I don't have to do so much at one time. I'll leave you with my favorite picture of the season; Kourtni & Brea being silly.

I'm still ALIVE!

I have lots of pictures to update you on and lots to talk about. We've had a wonderful holiday season that has been really stress free. That's not usual for us! I've gotten lots of rest and will continue to do so until I have to get up and do something.

I have hooked on to another addiction: Vampire Diaries! I really thought I wouldn't like it but now... I am truly hooked! Stephan & Damon add to my new belief that skinny white boys can be hot!

Anyway... I'll be adding all of our holiday excitement soon!

Forever & a Day!

I know! It has been forever & a day since I have made a blogging contribution. I have been extremely swamped! Basketball season has begun and I have been coaching all four teams. The other coaches & I are now in a transition of sorts, for me to hand over the two 7th grade teams. I have some anxiety about that, (of course I do; that's who I am!) but it's for the best. I can't coach four games a week, teach all day, hold 8 practices, have time for family and friends and be on my A game all the time. I had to let go and stop being the wonderful control-freak that I am. So again, I'll try to do better! I promise!

SERIOUSLY ADDICTED!

Ok... we all know I am a supreme DORK! We all know that I love my family and I think outside the box on most occasions. We all know that I'm generally composed. We also know that i thrive on anxiety sometimes and getting things done. I am addicted to Post-its, peanut butter M&Ms, green Laffy Taffy, Grey's Anatomy, Nip Tuck, and most importantly TWILIGHT! Yes I am a huge TWI-la-HOLIC! Today, though, I found myself almost giddy waiting to go see NEW MOON tomorrow night, or Friday morning rather, at midnight. Yes! Myself, Kourtni, her friend, Gabby, Jacy ( Gabby's step-mom) and our friend Kelly, are going to the TWILIGHT/ NEW MOON double feature! I cannot wait! SOOO much fun! The ultimate girls night! Yes, before you ask, I do have work the next day and I'm not skipping. I drudging on and sacrificing sleep for my beloved Edward. YAYYYY!!!!!

Excitement!

While I could be blogging about numerous happenings in life, I just cannot contain my excitement about NEW MOON opening on November 20th! I really am just overjoyed that I get to see Edward and Bella reunited on film. Robert Pattinson is on the cover of Vanity Fair for November. His piercing blue eyes just stare right out of the picture at me. I swear I did not think he was even remotely hot until I became a TWI-la-holic.

While we wait for NEW MOON, I'll give you another hands-in-hair shot of Mr. Pattinson. SOO cute! I even like this distressed look! Happy TWILIGHTING!

Only 19 more Days!

There is only 19 more days until we get to see the next installment of one of the greatest love stories ever! Even though New Moon was my least favorite of the book series, I cannot wait to see the action and passion that it will be on screen. It wasn't as if I didn't like it, it was just hard to get through. It was gut-wrenching! I know that it ends well so that's all that matters. I am so excited!

Mark your calendars ( mine has been marked for months) NEW MOON is almost here!
